Catapulting the audience into the seedy world of Georgian London, this film investigates eighteenth century vice from the perspective of a young artist striving for documentary integrity and in danger of getting too close to his subject.
A love story and a morality tale starring Toby Jones, Zoe Tapper, Sophie Thompson, Geraldine James and Richard Wilson, combining visceral drama with innovative sound design to speculate on the inspiration behind one of the most famous sequences in British art.
